Tahdig - one of the most coveted elements of any Persian meal, is a divinely delectable combination of art & science, offering a feast for all one's senses.
Join Layla for a delicious afternoon at the farm with guest Chef Louisa Shafia, author of the renowned cookbook The New Persian Kitchen, whose writing and recipes have been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Food & Wine, among many others.
She’ll show us how to make , the famous crunchy rice at the bottom of the pot aka Iranian soul food, and how to prepare saffron for cooking in Persian recipes. We will have Persian snacks including a platter featuring feta cheese and fresh herbs, dips, and seasonal produce. Everyone will get to taste the tahdig along with fluffy, Persian-style saffron rice! tahdigsabzi khordan
